Implantology

Whatever the reason, losing a tooth is always a definite trauma. Many people consider that the replacement solutions for missing teeth such as bridges or dentures do not have sufficient qualities in terms of comfort or aesthetics. Implantology, in other words replacing a tooth with a dental implant, provides the patient with increased stability and chewing much better than any other method. In addition to a feeling of perfect security, the other advantage of the implant is its undeniable aesthetic side. A dental implant can improve the patient’s quality of life.
An implant is an artificial titanium root placed in the upper or lower jaw to create a new permanent root. After a while, the implant integrates into the bone. It can then become an anchor point for a fixed bridge, or removable, full or partial dentition.
Titanium is the most frequently used material in implantology. Thanks to its surface which is coated with titanium oxide, it is very stable, and its energy and resistance to stress are high. As a result, it absorbs water, calcium, sodium, phosphate, etc., molecules and proteins to which the protein structures of the bone subsequently cling. Osseointegration can then be done, the implant is taken in the bone.
We use different brands of implants, Straumann, ICX, AlphaBio and NobelBiocare.
